Aircraft Twirls Wildly into Palm Fronds at Popular California Beach
A helicopter flying above a crowded southern California beach suddenly started spinning out of control, finally descending rapidly and crashing into a row of palm trees as beachgoers observed.
Recordings posted on the internet show the helicopter commencing to spiral over the shoreline then falling towards the border of the coast, where it ends up lodged between palm trees and a steps near the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Information
Emergency responders stated five persons were taken to hospital involving two who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” following the accident on the weekend.
Three persons on the street were harmed. Specifics on their condition were not yet released.

The department indicated the aircraft was associated with an annual “Cars and Copters” charity gathering scheduled for the next day.
