Check out Twenty-Nine Latest Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Including a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)

The world's favorite pizza-eating heroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's company, the game's creators, announced a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a special event hosted at NYCC. Could this be a exciting addition or simply another crossover marketing move? We'll let you be the judge.

Take a look here at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with some useful context. All items listed here releases on March 6, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27.

Magic x TMNT: Core Set Reveals

Before we get into the many unique products and bundles on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per booster.

Let's unpack a couple of shell-shocking details. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic called Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, in which gamers can cheat big creatures onto the game field when an attacker goes unblocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells too. The designers also took the opportunity to clean up the ability a little (Sneak is treated as playing a spell, unlike Ninjutsu). The original ability isn't going away, but it's more likely we'll see Sneak in upcoming expansions from now on.

Should we were to return to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu because that's where it was developed and it’s a hallmark to that,” a senior designer stated. “But in other settings, because the mechanics are smoother and the new ability will be in standard, it’s probable that we'd use Sneak.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is among four special cards with unique artwork designed exclusively for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator the co-creator.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing cards outside of your main deck, so was I. But according to Wizards, that's now a legal card in all formats of Magic.

Anyway, below are the highly unusual full-art lands from the TMNT set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers state they were careful to make sure the new cards and mechanics meshed well with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for 15 months and we were aware it would be Standard-legal and which sets were going to be near it in standard,” the designer says. “We designed to make sure that they work well with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red strategy built around artifacts.

“They mesh together to offer the pieces for a fun Standard deck,” he says.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to design any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it does come with six different legendary cards who could work as your Commander based on how you pair them (five of the cards include a unique partner ability called “Character Select” that allows starting with two of them in the command zone instead of just one). Take a look for yourself:

The Turtle Power deck is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise based on demand. Sources told that it contains 43 brand-new cards altogether, which means an extra thirty-seven TMNT-themed cards besides the six legendary commanders shown earlier. (Doing some rough math, that also means approximately 20 reprints if we estimate the precon comes with 37 lands.)

What will the TMNT edition of the iconic Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and find out.

Standard Bundle (Standard Edition)

As per usual, the company is offering a bundle. This one is priced at $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • Nine Standard Boosters

  • 15 Regular land cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • 1 Foil promotional card
  • One Large spindown life counter

Pizza Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it comes in a box resembling a pizza box. Every pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • One Premium Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • Five Foil pizza-themed lands
  • 2 Foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
  • Two helper cards

  • 1 storage box

For those curious about the “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring all-new TMNT art. The team revealed one for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces on a pizza slice. There are six different pizza promos available.

This special bundle releases a few weeks after the core set on March 27, 2026.

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to develop Magic products specifically for new players. Here, the cooperative set is a unique product of decks that let you and a friend team up against a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.

The general idea here that each Boss card gives unique powers to the creatures included in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically plays an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
