Springfield's Favorite Family Makes Its Debut in Psyonix's Hit Game: Unfortunately Not the Car You're Dreaming Of
We already knew that The Simpsons was collaborating with Epic Games' battle royale, but that's not the only place where enthusiasts can experience the world of Springfield. The beloved show is also making its way to Rocket League, introducing an vehicle customization option that will also be compatible in the Fortnite universe. That said, whether players will truly desire to use it is another question, as there's only one Springfield vehicle everyone is eager to get behind the wheel of, and this new offering isn't that one.
The Dream Vehicle
While many gamers would undoubtedly love to compete behind the wheel of The Homer—the famously flawed automobile Homer designed himself in the 1991 episode "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—that's not what players are receiving. Not even receiving the massive SUV, the enormous vehicle showcased in season 10. Instead, players will obtain the family's standard well-worn sedan, which has been in the family since the show's early days. Though this particular car has seen better days, it remains an iconic symbol of the show. For those who analyze Rocket League car hitboxes, the trusty sedan uses the identical collision model as the Dominus body type.

More Than Just a Car
But that's not the sole cosmetic from the series coming to Rocket League. The event will also include a series of challenges to earn more rewards, all of which are Simpsons-themed. According to a press release, the missions will task participants to "achieve a certain number of centers and clears as there are The Simpsons years on air, collect boost pickups as if your GPS is set to The Simpsons’ residence, and drive a distance sufficient for acquiring the perfect donuts!"
While the complete list of challenge rewards hasn't been disclosed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:
- Blinky antenna topper
- Homer's Hedges player banner
- Waste wheels
- 20,000 experience points for each challenge
Based on promotional images is a reliable guide, it seems players will also get wheels with a television displaying The Simpsons' opening credits, alien antenna toppers, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and rocket boosts themed to smoldering rubber and Krusty Burger.
