These last 48 hours have been nothing short of dramatic. On Monday, we marked the half-decade milestone of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X with a competition to decide the top exclusive title of this hardware cycle. You were given eight PlayStation 5 titles and eight Xbox Series X games to compete against each other, culminating in a final showdown where the top game from each platform would go head-to-head. We've witnessed some incredibly close calls in the first two rounds, particularly yesterday’s razor-thin votes. At this point, it's moment to decide the leading PlayStation and Xbox titles before Thursday’s final battle.

The PS5 Side

For PlayStation 5, we have the Kratos-killer, Astro Bot. Maybe it should be no surprise given that it took home the top prize at last year’s Game Awards, but its win against God of War Ragnarök seems like a major shock. But to get to the finals, it'll need to defeat the MVP of the PlayStation 5 era: the acclaimed developer. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 enjoyed an easy journey to the semi-finals, leaping past Ghost of Yōtei and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (another Insomniac game!) to land in the semi-finals. Can Spidey topple a beloved PlayStation icon, or is he destined to become a miniature appearance in the next Astro Bot game?

The Xbox Series X Side

For Xbox Series X has been more exciting. Coming out on top from a diverse lineup of contenders is Forza Horizon 5. It's a significant win for the racing adventure title so far, proving that a more specialized genre game earns to be on the same pedestal as classic platformers and cinematic action-adventure games. Its last roadblock on the way to the finals is a big one, though. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has shown itself as a crowd favorite, beating critical darlings like Pentiment and Hi-Fi Rush. Can it beat a much bigger game from an established IP that's synonymous with Xbox itself? If anyone can pull that off, it's likely Indiana Jones.
